Change Is Always Possible

Exit operates as it always has done, because we care. Against all extremism, we understand extremism hurts the victims of hate, those involved, their families and the communities we live in.

Sick of the damage extremism causes, we help people see beyond labels like racist or nazi and see people as people.  Yes, those involved have made mistakes, but haven't we all?

Involvement in extremism must be a life lesson, not a life sentence.

Reducing extremism, one person at a time, isn't glamorous, but it works, and our work is not about numbers, likes or followers, but people who have suffered and as a small charity, we do as much as we can, with our modest resources.

Outlining our principles and objectives, we hope you like our approach and can see the worth in what we do. if would would like to help, please get in touch. We can all do something.

Exit Core Principles

Exit Hate is an independent charity, mainly run by volunteers, with lived experience of the impact of extremism, either because we are former activists or are family members who have had a loved one involved.

Operating to support people in need, our core principles are:

Confidential

Everything we hear is in complete confidence, and we will never share anything  with anyone outside of our organisation, unless we believe someone is going to harm themselves or others

Anonymous

When someone contacts us, you don't have to use your own name if you don't want to. This helps create a safe space where we can concentrate on people's needs and try and create a safe space where people feel comfortable to talk in.

Non-Judgemental

Having been judged ourselves for many years, we never judge anyone and instead focus on the future and ways people can move away from the impact of extremism

Non - Directional

Seeking to empower people to make changes in their own lives, we don't tell people what to do; instead, we provide guidance from a lived experience perspective and provide links to our online support programme and other support services so people can make up their own minds and decide what is best for them.

Our Charitable Objectives

We strive to advance conflict resolution and reconciliation for the public benefit in communities in the UK that are adversely affected by far-right extremist activities, with a view to relieving suffering, poverty, and distress and building and maintaining social cohesion and trust within and between communities by:

Identifying the causes of far-right extremism.

Advancing education about far-right extremism and its impact.

Providing counselling, advice and support to individuals involved in far-right extremism and their families and friends.

Promoting dialogue, mutual understanding, tolerance and peace           within communities.

Empowering people to challenge prejudices that can cause conflict and social instability

Seeking to eliminate discrimination and extremist practices that can arise as a result of consequence of violent extremism.

Can You Help?

Seeking to reduce extremism through education, compassion, and understanding, our approach is different.

We believe in helping people. Individuals involved, their families and educating people about how people become involved, so we can look beyond labels.

If you are an individual and would like to support our work, please have a look at our Support Our Work page.
