Exit Hate is proud to announce that we will be releasing a brand-new series of Podcasts, starting on March 2nd at 8 PM. Following this, podcasts will continue to be released every Monday at 8 PM.
During our podcasts, you will hear from formers, family members and community members who have been impacted by radicalisation and extremism.
From stories of involvement, to stories of people who have received support, all will highlight how with work, positive change can happen.
The podcasts will be from people with a real-life, lived experience, so they will offer a unique, human insight into a challenging, but fascinating world.
These podcasts aim to educate listeners to the dangers of involvement and show how radicalisation and extremism really impact people’s lives.
Lifting the lid on radicalisation, the podcasts will show how people recruited feel, what the push and pull factors are and how, by working together, we can all do something and reduce extremism.
Upskilling listeners, the podcasts will help people understand the signs of radicalisation, so when a loved one becomes involved, instead of being generally unaware and unprepared, families and friends will be ready to step in, listen and then get support for the person they love.
Showing how people can work with people involved to walk away, instead of those involved feeling fearful of what the future will hold, struggling to take responsibility, and feeling full of shame, which can cause reluctance in reaching out for support. We will show how leaving is a positive experience, with people gaining control of their lives and embracing life
Starting with small steps, this journey can be tough, with many ups and downs, but with perseverance, people can move away from hate.
Looking at the results of an individual's involvement, often there is widespread devastation and destruction to everyone involved – the individual, their families, and the community activists live in.
This is why conversations and podcasts are so important.
We believe the best way to reduce extremism is to protect those at risk of radicalisation, spread awareness of the dangers of involvement and have challenging conversations, where we can offer safe spaces and use education, compassion and understanding to reduce hate.
If you have ever been impacted by extremism, been involved yourself, had a family member, friend or loved one involved, or are working in an area where there is a risk (I.E., a teacher, carer or social worker), we welcome you to come and take part in one of our podcasts.
You can participate anonymously and under a pseudonym to protect your identity if you wish, and you can have full control over the questions that are asked and how you answer them.
