England became a nation on 12th July, 927 when King Athelstan brought together all the Anglo Saxon Kingdoms, to form what we now call England.
In 2027, England reaches its 1100 birthday & we think this is something to celebrate!
Now just one year away, this gives us time to network, organise, write articles, create music and organise events across the nation (and beyond) to mark this amazing achievement.
If you feel the same, let others know, think about how you want to mark this event and start planning now. talk to your family, your neighbours, work colleagues, community groups, schools, local business and politicians and let’s get behind this unique opportunity.
Promoting and focused unity, we seek to promote this event and show how coming together and supporting each other, we are stronger, better and united!
Community lies at the heart of campaign and while todays England is very different from that of 927, let us respect the past, honour it and build future England, we can all be proud of and call home.
Regardless of nationality, ethnicity, religion or identity, England’s 1100 birthday can and should be marked by all who call England their home.
