To protect yourself from impersonation scams and hackers, limit your connections to individuals you have met in real life and have a connection with.
Think Before You Click
Avoid clicking on links that appear suspicious. Even if these links are sent by friends, their accounts could have been compromised. If you are unsure, call a friend and ask, this will also give you a hgreat chance to catch up.
Keep Software Updated
Keep your operating system, web browser, and social media applications updated regularly to guarantee all necessary security software is up to date.
Disable Location Services
To maintain privacy, disable real-time location sharing by turning off GPS tracking for your major applications. For safety there are numerous apps out there you can use to share your location safely with family and friends so you stay safe.
