Communication - It's Time For A Change

The internet is a great place to connect, gain support, learn, and get entertainment. But it’s also a place where we can all lose hours, scrolling through content, that doesn’t give us anything.

Often, this can waste valuable time and we could be doing so much more.

Like most of us, we have all fallen into this trap on many occasions and this has led to the team over at Exit Hate to have lots of conversations about how we can be there for people, educate people on the dangers of involvement in extremism, but also not waste valuable time and energy that we could use to do other things like being creative, supporting people in different ways, educating ourselves, being with friends, reading a book or simply being outside, walking in nature, destressing ourselves from the very busy world, we all live in

From these conversations, Exit Hate has made a conscious decision to spend less time on various social media platforms so that both our supporters and staff/volunteers have more time to do other things.

Instead of posting on multiple platforms, we have now decided that will be concentrating on using - instagram, Linkedin and Facebook, with Facebook becoming our main social media outlet platform and you can find us here – https://www.facebook.com/exithatetrust/

Looking to do things differently, while we may still have a presence on a number of other, different social media platforms, these will now not be updated, with all pages listing our main email and website, so people can connect with us or find out more by viewing our main website or emailing us via our main email, which is listed..

What we will now be doing more of, is writing more blog posts, so we can talk about things in more depth and create more videos, explaing or looking at issues that matter, which can not only be used by individuals to educate themselves, but they can also be used by people to look at things in more depth and alsi be used by anyone in their training, allowing trainers to have videos that explain things from a lived experience. All we ask is you dont alter the content or remove our branding ( we want other people to use our free contenet and educate others).

Putting more effort into developing other ways of communicating with each other, we want to promote community development where we can talk about things in-depth.

By doing this we hope that this will help people understand extremism better, including people's journey's into extremism, the journey out and what support individuals and families need when they have a loved one involved.
