My Journey Into The Far-Right

One thing we need to understand is that one may find their way into the far-right as a response to a lack of something in their lives.

A lack of attention, affection or company. For me it was a bit of each.

The far-right was not only a tool for me to escape reality, but it was also a way for me to enter a world where I thought I felt powerful.

A person that doesn't have any mental health issues does not find themselves inside of a telegram channel discussing the most atrocious and gut wrenching things.

Extremism is not a normal thing.

It's a response some use to fill a void. For me, it was a way of finding people with similar interests. But where did these interests come from? The far-right, especially the alt-right, have a specific aesthetic that draws in the most innocent and vulnerable individuals. The flags, the symbolism, all made a significant impression on me. The internet is a haven for people to use these sorts of materials to convince depressed people that their problems are caused by a specific group of people.

This very much worked on me.

Tiktok was definitely the place I was mostly radicalised. The moderation there is poor enough that almost any content cant go through undetected. This is also where the rise of many alt-right telegram groups took place. It was the place where I was recruited.

Once I joined the group I was vetted and checked. After I passed all the checks, I entered the main group.

This was where I thought I found my people.

These people would do anything to seduce and groom young people to believe in their ideals and further their hatred. It definitely worked on me. All of this was a way to draw in more people. These people wanted recognition and power, regardless of the cost.

Hate is a path to the worst parts of humanity.

Hate doesn't just harm others, but it also harms ourselves.

I know how depressed I was when I used to hate. But why do we have to feel this way? We don't. It's an agenda created to destroy us and others.

I hope that many of you reading this can relate to some of the things I said.

Thank you for reading.
